In December Berlin can be gloomy, rainy and not so friendly. Spending time outdoors doesnât sound like such a good idea anymore. So here is the list of places to-go when itâs cold and moody outside, all my recent discoveries.
â
đž Sony World Photography Awards 2019 Exhibition (15 November - 2 February). Admission is free, just donât forget to bring your ID. The exhibition is located in Willy-Brandt-Haus and features around 130 works from the entire spectrum of photography. In my opinion all the photos presented this year are really decent and have a deeper meaning behind them.
â
đ Futurium â House of Futures. Itâs quite a new museum in Berlin that was opened in September this year. Admission is free. In this museum everything revolves around the question: how do we want to live? Visitors can discover many possible futures, take part in open discussions and try out their own ideas. Personally I really enjoyed all the exhibitions here and especially the Futurium Lab. Also the museum has a beautiful cafĂ© overlooking Spree and the government district.

đȘ Heissa Winter Market (29 November - 22 December) in @holzmarkt_ 25. This market is not the most famous one in Berlin but it is really authentic. Cozy corners, beautiful decorations, inspiring graffitis, delicious food with a lot of healthy options and breathtaking vintage carousel, right on the Spree. Definitely one of the most interesting and unusual Christmas markets in Berlin.
â
đ Markthalle IX. This is a huge market hall full of food from local providers and craft products such as handmade pottery, natural cosmetics and wine. In December @markthalleneun has gorgeous Christmas decorations and such a festive atmosphere. Itâs like a Christmas Market but indoors. Try here all kinds of authentic german, turkish or italian food, create your own winter bouquet or even rent your Christmas tree for the holidays and bring it back in January for replanting. ...
