“What’s your favorite thing about programming??”👩🏻‍💻⁣
⁣
I personally love 💙 that I can get lost in a problem and not think about anything else that’s going on. 💭 ⁣
⁣
It’s funny that even when something is broken ❌ or not working ⚙️, there is a solace 🏝 in the fact that there is always an answer 💡 & that it’s something you can ultimately somehow solve ⌨️.... unlike many other things in life. 🌿⁣
⁣
It’s my happy place 🥰⁣
⁣
Any one else feel that way? Or am I just weird? Hehe ⁣
⁣
XOXO & Happy Coding! 🚀⁣

How not to write a 💩 code? The first step is to admit that you are doing it 😂
.
Actually nobody can write perfect and infinitely scalable code, so just admit that you can do mistakes and maybe you need to learn more patterns, for example, to make your code better. So it will be more scalable, more readable and less vulnerable to bugs 🐞.

I changed from Software Engr to Comp Sci
✎---------------------------------------
Yeah 😅... I actually changed from Software Engineering to Computer Science ! I'm currently a SOEN student but as of next semester, I will be pursuing my degree as a Computer Science student! You might be wondering if I have to restart from scratch.. Turns out that I actually got about 90% of my classes credited 😁 If all goes well, I have about 3 semesters left before I graduate🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With all this being said, I will be having a video on it! I'm going to be comparing both degrees, show the job market as well as give my reasoning as to why I did changed 🤓 I'm currently editing that video so stay tuned. Remember I post every tuesday on YouTube (for now)! 😜 If you guys have any questions on wether you should study software engineering or computer science, let me know in the comment section down below 👇🏽

Second most active programming language on GitHub. Python is one of the top object-oriented programming languages and 2nd in the list of Most loved top programming languages as per Stack Overflow developer survey 2019.
.
3. Java - Average Java Developer salary in the US as per Indeed: $101,929 per year. Java happens to be at the 10th place as one of the most dreaded programming languages in 2019.

🔥 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥
—
I’m leaving Receipt Bank! 🤭
—
I teased this a while ago, but as my last day is quickly approaching, so now is a good time to break the news and answer some questions 😆
—
WHY? 🤷🏻‍♂️
The people and culture here is amazing and it was a tough decision to make, but having ran my own company for five years before this role, that itch has slowly been creeping back... and it’s now time to scratch it 😎
—
WHAT NEXT? 🚀
I’m going back to being a full time founder, focusing on @thisismodest and taking time to build my own (commercially viable) SaaS products... more on this later!
—
BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR DESK?! 🖥
I’m gonna miss it for sure! The silver lining here is that I’ll be working all over London and will be sharing a wider variety of work spaces and setups... plus, I need to update my home setup so a little shopping trip is in order 💸
—
UPDATES 📫
I’ll be sending an email out to those signed up to MarcusMail (link in bio) with more nitty gritty details that I don’t tend to share on Instagram (like how I’ll be financing myself, what I needed to do before giving up my full time salary, and in-depth progress updates) 📨.

What's up guys, how is your week going ?
Today we'll try to make some sense of the JavaScript logical operators: NOT (!), AND (&&), OR (||). Using these is quite simple and I bet most of you already know this but still, it's always useful to understand this type of things a little bit better. So let's go!
-
We'll start with the NOT - ! - operator. Look at the examples with this operator and see what these examples return. When we use this operator with some value, this will return false if that value can be converted to true, otherwise it will return true. So this basically always returns the opposite. We can also use this operator twice, like ' !!value '. This will basically return us true if the value is truthy and false if the value is falsy.
-
The OR operator - || - will return true if one of the values is truthy, otherwise it will return false. So, if the first value is truthy, it won't even look at the second value, it will just return us the first one. In the case ' 22 || 0 ' this will return 22 and will not even care about the 0.
-
Finally, we have the AND operator - &&. This operator returns true if both values are truthy, otherwise it will return false. So if it checks the first value and see that it's falsy, it will automatically return false and not care about the second value.
