Hi. My name is Jibran Naveed. I take photographs almost every other day. I never made money out of it, not even 1₹. I could have just the way others are but I didn’t. I can just see photographers of kashmir are getting paid for the labour work they are doing for the people the way they want them to but hardly anyone is getting paid for the vision they keep. Its a bitter truth and I feel that only a few photographers have a good vision in photography in kashmir. Majority of the photographers of kashmir are so much versatile and dynamic that they are doing wedding, food, fashion, product, portrait, landscapes, aerial, sports and every other kind of photography (all in one) because they just want to earn money. Its crazy. It doesn’t make sense to an insane man like me. It sounds like Kuku is a doctor. Kuku is a cardiologist, gynaecologist, Oncologist, a Dentist, a fucking psychiatrist and he/she (I don’t want to be gender specific) can also cure piles. How is that possible? So I had to say “No thanks” a good 100 times when ever I got opportunities in a different genre of photography that I was not interested in. I could’ve done it easily considering and keeping in mind the standard people have already settled for. I could’ve done it easily but that’s not me. Making money is all what matters at the end of the day for 90% people but not for me. I can argue on this till eternity if you want me to. Many of you would be reading this as well who approached me for work. I hope you understand now. Nonetheless!
