Tokyo-based marketing firm Piala Inc. is giving its non-smoking employees an extra six paid leaves every year to compensate for smokers' cigarette breaks. According to reports, the perk was introduced after the non-smoking employees complained they are working extra hours. "One of our non-smoking staff put a message in the company suggestion box earlier in the year saying that smoking breaks were causing problems," said Hirotaka Matsushima, an employee of the company. He added that the CEO of the company saw the message and agreed to give non-smokers some extra time off as compensation.
Following the decision to provide six-days of paid vacation to non-smokers, Piala Inc CEO Takao Asuka said: “I hope to encourage employees to quit smoking through incentives rather than penalties or coercion,” .

So day 4 no smoking!
Although I must admit the morning after I quit I did bum one cigarette. The tried to smoke the but of one the next day. But it has definitely been 48 hours with no nicoteine and 3 days 16hrs since I finnished the last package I purchased.
I am feeling less intense urges to smoke today. Well ... I still want to smoke desperately. The thought is crossing my mind more regularly but with less intensity.
I am going to do it this time though! Even if deep down I doubt it and secretly don't want to succeed. I know it will ultimately beneficial!
Not because of all the obvious reasons.
But because I have been trying to get to the point where I can finally say I have me back. I want the old confident, fearless and successful me back. The one I was before my mental break down 8 year ago. The one before I started smoking!
I never wanted to believe it, but perhaps the smoking is more the cause for destruction than my illness? I know when I quit for a decent chunk of last year, I was on fire! I was soooooo good! Mentally, physically and productively.
So I have to hold onto that hope. A month from now I will be killing it!
It's so far away though.
I want to cave right now.... ugh. Save me from myself
Today I am 10 months cigarette free! It’s honestly a tie with making a baby for accomplishments this year. I started smoking seriously when I was 16, and I suffered from it worse than most smokers. I was put on puffers for having acquired asthma, I would wake up coughing throughout the night- I couldn’t even sleep on my back without choking. Today I am breathing deep and exercise is easier than ever. My teeth are whiter and my skin looks better too. I have mountains more of energy and I don’t have to get off the train early to finish any coughing fits. I think being pregnant with Taiyo has saved my life!

There is emerging evidence of various detrimental health effects of smoking shisha, it is described as the ‘EMERGING DEADLY TREND’. However, even if you have been smoking shisha for quite a long time, it’s never too late. Here are some tips to help you quit and let go of smoking shisha:
1. Do more physical activities
2. Get support from others – your family, your doctor and your pharmacist.
3. Remove smoking triggers – avoid events where there will be shisha, avoid stress.
4. Have a good diet – Vegetables high in magnesium have a relaxing effect on the body and helps you more focused.
Fruits rich in vitamin C, help in converting tryptophan into serotonin, thus keeping you calm and relax.
5. Establish the right attitude - with willpower everything is possible.

May I cry a little on the shoulder of the Almighty insta-cyber-universe Space?
It has proven to be virtually impossible to quit smoking since I arrived in Italy. And before my ceremonial arrival I actually quit and didn’t “put the log in my mouth” for a few months (as my late father used to say, may he Rest In Peace, «Леночка, вынь палено изо рта!»).
I renounce these “mental friends” every morning. Sometimes for days at a time. Sometimes for weeks. But they notoriously make their filthy way back into my mouth. Perhaps because my mouth doesn’t get much action these days. Apologies.
I’ve read Allan Carr. I admittedly found his preaching quite effective. At the end of the book he says, if it didn’t work, read it again... and again, especially the “Health” chapter. Ok. Done it. But no. Allan, my adversary is stronger than your method!
They say if you’re not ready to stop no intervention will work. Only I AM ready. And at my age it is quite contraindicated (yes, I am acutely aware that I refer to my age a little too much, deal with it, like I do).
So so bad, so so destructive. I am a paradox. I am probably the only woman (or one of very few and almost extinct) who practices yoga and clean lifestyle ( in and out of the kitchen) but still suffers from the ugly addiction to cigarettes. If I have a glass of wine - I smoke (T9 just changed “smoke” to “smile”) If I feel a little anxious - I smoke. If I feel overwhelmed, both positively or negatively, - I smoke. What the fuck! And at the same time, if they outlaw the sales of cigarettes altogether, I know I wouldn’t miss them.
While I was writing this I “smiled” 3 logs. Blyat
Suggestions are welcome. Alternative therapy, if perhaps there is something I don’t know, is welcome. Threats are welcome. Thanks for listening...
