DEAD LIFT FREQUENCY 💀

Short story: Over the weekend I had a man approach me and said he recognized me from YT and watched my videos.
-
He immediately decided to tell me that he disagreed with me about deadlifting more than 1x per week and how he doesn’t think it works for the majority of people.
-
Bold statements.

I then asked him a simple question by asking: “have you deadlifted more than 1x per week?
-
His response was (paraphrasing): “no, because I know it’s just not good for my back and messes me up”
-
To me this is one of the biggest issues. People aren’t even willing to experiment with their training and have an open mind to what could possibly be on the other side. 
Few points I made with him:
-
1) Just because you deadlift more than 1x per week doesn’t mean each session is a crazy fatiguing session. This can be regulated by exercise selection, and playing with variables like volume, intensity, equipment worn etc...

2) when increasing frequency it’s a gradual progress, start with 1 day extra and it could be as simple as doing some RDLs. Then slowly increase the dose.

3) If you are deadlifting 1x a week and getting the results you want, sweet stick with it! If you are complaining about being stuck 1x a week and closed minded to increasing frequency, shame on you!

4) There is no set golden number for frequency or volume across the board. The only way to know is to track progress and results.

5) Don’t be afraid to try something new. Heck if it doesn’t work, at least you tried and now you know! But that also doesn’t mean it won’t work for others.

Tried out this new @elitefts American cambered grip bar and absolutely love it. It is like a Swiss bar or Football bar but the camber allows for greater range of motion and you can even flip it upside down for a board press kind of effect. Seriously my favorite bar for pressing that I have ever used.
