#throwbackthursday to the shredzzz 🔪 this was actually the day after my show!! (LOL at the tan)

Many competitors deal with some type of body dysmorphia at some point. You’re not alone!!
.
In the improvement season YOU might think that you look overweight when in reality, you probably aren’t🤷🏽‍♀️
.
In prep you might feel like you aren’t going to be ready in time. Trust your coach and get out of your own head!!
.
Deep into prep and at the beginning of my reverse, I felt TINY and I did NOT like feeling like that!
.
So here are some things that can help👇🏽
➡️STOP looking at yourself in the mirror 29465 times a day!
➡️Focus on building STRENGTH
➡️Surround yourself with supportive people (reach out if you ever want to chat!)
➡️Tell your coach how you’re feeling!!!
➡️DO👏🏼NOT👏🏼COMPARE👏🏼YOURSELF👏🏼TO👏🏼OTHERS👏🏼

HIIT workouts are one of my favourite ways to train. They are short, sweet and to the point whilst challenging yourself to push through 10-20 minutes of intense overload. While they are certainly not for the faint of heart, they definitely can be part of a great training program as they not only develop the anaerobic system, but also have aerobic benefits as well
.
They burn a ton of calories, preserve muscle mass, and can be done anywhere anytime. Generally, I like a work:rest ratio of either 1:1 or 1:0.5 (really extreme, but gets the job done). What ratio someone uses strongly depends on their time, goals, and fitness level. I highly suggest a ratio of 1:2 or more for beginners to allow for ample rest and play with the ratios as they see fit to their fitness level and progress

Currently 148lb pounds, trying to take relatively more calories and carbs than I usually eat to put on some more mass to gain strength and grow more muscle. I’ve recently increased in strength and hopefully gained a few pounds of muscle, but staying positive and training to reach my goal.

It’s never ever too late to change! Before I switch up my lifestyle I had many feelings of resignation. I felt like it was gonna take forever to lose weight, to heal my skin, to feel better... I would think, “why bother now, I’m not 20 anymore it doesn’t matter..” but it DOES MATTER!! YOU matter! The ANIMALS matter. The EARTH matters. Even if you feel like it’s pointless to change, change anyways! Even if it feels like it’s gonna take forever, do it anyways! Put your trust in loving acts and focus one day at a time because if you don’t change now, the only other option is to continue what you’re doing and if that’s keeping you stagnant or setting your goals back, then you already know your future. Every positive choice you make is good. You’re worth each and every one!
