@jeremyjauncey Jambo! Karibu Kenya πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ😊 There is something very special about spending time in Africa, connecting with nature and through @sheldricktrust meeting orphaned baby elephants :) The illegal wildlife trade, human conflict and changing climates have impacted wildlife in Kenya to such an extent that their very existence continues to be under threat. I will never understand how people can hunt these animals for sport or to make products that are so meaningless in the wider context of life but I understand that the issue is complex and focusing on blame will never fix our problems.... Supporting organisations that stand up for conservation will :) Earlier this year @natalialalonde adopted Jotto for us, a 3 year old baby who was found down a well and abandoned when he was very small- today I went to meet him and his family 😊 22 orphaned elephants are cared for through @sheldricktrust who since their founding have successfully saved and reintroduced over 240 elephants back into the wild. Their elephant adoption program (see their Instagram and website) allows you to support their work, learn about wildlife and have a positive impact on these amazing animals- there’s a video of my experience on my last post. Increasing the right kind of sustainable tourism to Africa that prioritises the environment & animals, the very asset that makes African travel so special, is the only way to ensure long term success so get involved in tourism, get involved in conservation and know you can have a positive impact on the world when you do :) Huge thank you to my friend Deb @roarafrica for making this experience possible and all the work you do for Africa πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ
